Brevo alternatives compared: Mailchimp, MailerLite, and Klyzen

What Brevo does well, the four documented reasons people look elsewhere, and how the alternatives compare on the numbers each vendor publishes today.

Published All prices and limits checked on vendor sites on 18 September 2026

Disclosure: this guide is published by Klyzen, which is one of the options below. Klyzen is in early access; where its details are not yet public, we say so instead of guessing.

Short answer: If you mainly want a generous free tier and do not mind a 250-contact ceiling, MailerLite (2,500 emails/month free) and Mailchimp (500 sends/month free) both avoid Brevo's 300-per-day cap on small lists. If you have more than a few hundred contacts and send a couple of times a month, compare MailerLite's Comfort plan ($12/month, 500 subscribers, 5,000 emails) with Brevo's Starter ($9/month plus $9 to remove the logo, 500 contacts, 5,000 emails). If your reason for leaving is unexplained restrictions or opaque account status, that is what Klyzen is being built around, and it is currently a waitlist rather than a product you can sign up for today.

What Brevo is and what it does well

Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) is an all-in-one marketing platform: email campaigns, SMS, WhatsApp, chat, transactional email, a CRM, automation, and landing pages. Its pricing is based on monthly email volume rather than list size, its Free plan stores up to 100,000 contacts with no time limit, and paid plans start at $9/month (Starter) and $18/month (Standard). For senders who want SMS, a CRM, and email in one account, that breadth is the main reason to stay.

Four documented reasons people look for a Brevo alternative

  1. The email tier caps your contacts. On the first three Starter and Standard tiers, 5,000 / 10,000 / 15,000 emails per month also mean at most 500 / 1,500 / 2,500 stored contacts, and Brevo automatically upgrades you to the next tier (at a higher cost) when you exceed the cap. Details in our Brevo pricing guide.
  2. Branding on the entry plan. Starter emails carry a "Sent by Brevo" footer unless you add the $9/month Remove Brevo logo add-on, which doubles the entry price.
  3. 300 emails a day on Free. A campaign to more than 300 contacts has to be manually requeued day after day.
  4. Two-strike suspensions with billing continuing. Brevo suspends campaigns when a send exceeds a 2% hard bounce, 1% unsubscribe, or 0.2% complaint rate, states that a second suspension cannot be reactivated, and keeps the subscription running while you are suspended. See what a Brevo suspension means.

Mailchimp

Best for: senders who want the largest template and integration ecosystem and are happy to pay by contact count.

Mailchimp prices by contacts. Its Free plan now allows up to 250 contacts and 500 sends per month (250 per day); if you exceed either, "a hold is placed on sending live emails or test emails until you upgrade to a paid plan or reduce your contact total." Essentials starts at $13/month and Standard at $20/month, each for 500 contacts, with monthly sends capped at 10× and 12× your contact limit respectively. Premium starts at $350/month for 10,000 contacts.

Overage rule worth knowing: on paid plans, exceeding your contact limit does not stop sending; Mailchimp says "you'll see an additional charge on your bill." That is the opposite trade-off to Brevo's automatic tier upgrade: no interruption, but a variable invoice. The 14-day trial on Essentials and Standard requires valid payment information at signup and converts to a paid plan unless cancelled.

Watch for: a 250-contact free ceiling is small; Brevo's Free plan stores far more contacts but throttles sending instead.

MailerLite

Best for: small lists that need a real free tier, and frequent senders who want unlimited emails on a fixed price.

MailerLite's Free plan covers up to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month with 2 user seats, 3 automations, and community support. Comfort costs $12/month ($10.80/month billed yearly) for up to 500 subscribers and 5,000 emails with 24/7 email support. Power costs $25/month ($22.50 billed yearly) for up to 500 subscribers with unlimited monthly emails, unlimited seats, unlimited automations, and 24/7 live chat. Prices scale with subscriber count on the pricing page slider.

Watch for: we did not verify MailerLite's account approval or suspension policy for this guide; check its help center before migrating a large list.

Klyzen

Best for: senders whose main complaint is not price but not knowing where they stand: unexplained restrictions, black-box deliverability, and support loops.

Klyzen is an email campaign tool currently in early access. It is being designed around transparent account health, clear sending limits, understandable deliverability data, and early warnings before a problem stops a campaign. Pricing, plan limits, and the public feature list have not been published yet, which is why the table above says so rather than filling in numbers. If that focus matches your reason for leaving Brevo, the waitlist is the way to get early access and the pricing when it is announced.
